Real women have curves…
…at all the right places!
Realised that I’m getting CURVIER and CURVIER, but at all the wrong places. Okay, some of the places are right, but the proportions are wrong. Should do some exercise now that the students are gone for their holidays and I don’t have to stay back at the office waaaaaaaay past the working hours (not that WAAAAAAY past, but yeah, still past the working hours). My sister’s boyfriend asked me to come along with them (FYI: my younger sister’s - none of those sister’s boyfriend-snatching stories here) to a trip to Sabah; they are going to climb Mt. Kinabalu this time. Should grab the opportunity before my dad retires from his job. That should motivate me to do a bit of walking and running and sit-upping…
Anyway, talking about my dad’s retirement - I called N, a friend from uni who’s currently in KK, the other day. Used to be sooooo crazy about him (still is) - he’s the cheeky-munky kind, always flirtatious, always naughty. But as cheeky as he is, he did help me out in some serious matters. Which made me go even crazier about him.
Last time I met him he was working with the Department of Fisheries, taking care of several pens of groupers (groupers are fish, not people who collect groupies) for an experiment. So recently, during one of those boring moments when you are waiting for your tapau food to be ready and you are all alone with no one to talk to, and it’s Maghrib, and you’d be so takde adat to call people just so that you won’t appear tercangak-cangak, I called him. After a couple of failed attempts (he was in the shower the first time, and was trying to call me back the second time), I managed to get through. It was nice to hear a Sabahan accent; I missed it very much
…
Through our conversation, I learnt that
- He’s in KK
- He’s not working with the Dept. of Fisheries anymore
- Therefore he has no "power" to consider offering my cousin a job
- He’s not working with UMS, either
- Or Borneo Divers for that matter
- He’s working with my dad
- He wanted to keep the news a surprise…(caiiirr)
Anyhow, we made a "date" to see each other and go diving the next time I’m in KK. Can’t hardly wait heehee…
Now, where’s that swimsuit again?
Hijau
Bumi yang tiada rimba
Seumpama hamba
Dia dicemar manusia
Yang jahil ketawa
It’s lunch time, and I have nowhere to go. Guess I’ll grab this chance to write a bit in the blog, and get some of the kusutness erased away.
Am listening to Hijau by Zainal Abidin. Heard the song first time when I was in Form Four. It became sort of our class song. Remembered singing it with the whole class on a Sunday, right after we were being scolded for having a dirty, messy classroom. The class rep bought some really-really green-coloured paper to cover our desks and the notice boards. Hence Hijau as the class theme…
Bumi yang tiada udara
Bagai tiada nyawa
Pasti hilang suatu hari
Tanpa disedari
Went for an expedition on the same year, too. Stayed 10-days and 9-nights in the middle of the jungle, picking ants during the day, and listening to Malaysian researchers reciting poetry and singing songs at night. Had the fortune to hear one of Malaysia’s top scientists (way before she becomes famous) to sing Hujan by Sudirman hahaha. Anyway, on the closing night, during the farewell dinner, my friends and I sang Hijau. On a stage. Accompanied by a band.
Bumi tanpa lautan
Akan kehausan
Pasti lambat laun hilang
Duniaku yang malang
Those were the days; innocent days, days without fear, without reservations on our opinion of the world, without (office) politics (*ooops…)
Will I be able to give my children (kalau ada laaa… hahahahaha) those experiences?
Oh..anok-anok
tokleh meghaso mandi laok
Besaing,maing ghama-ghama
Ale lo ni tuo umurnyo bejuto
Kito usoho
Jauhke dari malapetako
Ozon lo ni koho nipih nak nak aghi
Keno make asak
Hok biso wei,pasa maknusio
Seghemo bendo-bendo di dunio
Tokleh tehe
Sapa bilo-bilo
(P/S: Cakap Kelantan la pulak kann…..

Monday blues
Yeah, let’s start the week with some bad news!
Was called for an "urgent" meeting early in the morning. Thank God I’ve had my breakfast at home before coming to work, or else my stomach would’ve grumbled like an angry walrus. Anyway, my superior bore some kusut news. Not exactly bad, if you think long-term, but it will surely give me some headaches in the near future…
To add to the kusutness, I will not be able to go back to KL for 3 weeks in a row starting on the Saturday after next. WHOA! Two weekends will be spent in Terengganu, and the third one in Kuantan…It’s not the end of the world, but I will miss my white-with-blue-flowered sofabed, the 29-inch TV, Pingu on Saturday morning, nasik lemak Nenek Miman, and most of all, my family.
Might as well go home now. I’m depleted of Techniques in Audiology questions. Don’t know what to ask anymore. Am thinking of going to Giant and getting a bag of soil so that I can sow the eggplant seeds I bought last year. They haven’t sprouted in their little packet, yet, so I guess they’re still good. At least I have something to look forward to in the next four weeks. Had my cat for that, but she doesn’t seem to grow at all…
Ahhh…kusut…kusut…Nak balik nangis lah.
