Was tagged by Paival. Did not know what that meant until I did some ‘research’ :D (ketinggalan betul aku nih).So here it is; this is how I look at 2.31 am Monday morning 10th Zulhijjah 1429 :p

Those are headphones, by the way. Not Princess Leia-like hairdo for berhari raya.

Hope I made your day, Paival. And Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Adha :)

P/S: I want to tag other ppl, but I don’t have that many friends who blog… Will try to find my way to tagging.

My nieces and nephew, Sabah Chapter

I seldom talk about my relatives residing in Sabah. I guess the reason being that I seldom see them, and I do not really know what’s going on in their lives, other than the major things and news. But that does not mean they are not in my mind.

I came across my cousin’s fotopages while browsing the internet, and found these two pictures. The first one is of my nieces (man wearing white shirt excluded haha…), daughters of my two older cousins. The ones wearing yellow(ish) t-shirts are siblings. They just lost their father last year, due to a motorvehicle accident. The boy on the other photo is their brother, and he looks really similar to his late father. It’s really surprising to see them so grown up; the last I saw them was two years ago. Can’t wait to see them again this Aidilfitri, insyaAllah…

Toilet doors

Toilet doors are interesting. I’ve been to toilets of both extremes; may it be the wooden shack by the Sandakan-Lahad Datu highway (near Kinabatangan bridge), painted blue on the outside, home to a family of lizards on the inside, and yet nary a pen mark; to the 1 pound sterling washroom in Harrods, where you have bottles of Issey Miyake and Estee Lauder perfumes on the (shiny marble) sink. Of course, without any marks on the door, either.

I went to one in Kuantan Megamall recently, and I faced something I last seen during my schooldays. Toilet door graffiti. Not as interesting as the one in Pertama Kompleks or Kompleks Karamunsing (I accidentally learnt about ‘the birds and the bees and the species in between’ during those visits to the toilets of said complexes), but not that boring, either. The unimaginative ones are the telephone/handphone numbers with offers of fun and play - how pathetic! The one in Megamall has a bit of a debate between smokers and non-smokers, a bit of a love confession (maybe I should put mine once), and a bit of bashing of a certain unfavourable girl.

No obscene, graphic, anatomical images that makes you wonder if you are 12, or cringe if you are 20.

It was nice reading, for what it’s worth, heehee…

Ronnie

One of my kittens, Ronnie, died yesterday. I found him lying in front of my car just before I started my car to get some dinner, already lifeless. To think I just patted and hugged him a few hours before…

I thought I could be an adult dealing with it. Just like I was cool and not bursting with anger when one of my housemates told me that she’s moving house in a day’s time. I can control my emotions. I’m old older now, there are many things bigger and more important than her moving out suddenly.

But no. I’m still the girl I was 15 years ago, who cried every time she found out her cat/kitten/pet siamang (yeah, my house did look a bit like a zoo back in the 90’s. We did have several exotic pets back then) died. I didn’t cry instantly; I managed not to shed a tear when my friend buried Ronnie; but I did cry afterwards, when I was alone in the car. I guess you could never run away from yourself, from what you were.

Marina, your true color is Black!

Sometime ago a friend forwarded me a Tickle test to take. That test was on how cool you are, and my result was that I’m ‘calm, cool and collected’, hahaha…

Took another test, and this is titled ‘What’s your true color?’. Here’s the result:

Your color is black.
The color of night. Serene and mysterious, black conjures up images of
elegant evening gowns, dashing tuxedos, and gleaming limousines.
Traditionally a symbol of success, black also represents power and an
uncompromising demand for perfection. Not surprisingly, you
tend to set challenging goals for yourself and do whatever it takes to
achieve them — your strength of character is second to none. This
unfaltering determination, along with your natural elegance, impresses
people. But keep in mind that your personality might be intimidating to
some. Try to temper your demanding side with a little softness — trust
us, it won’t kill you. Overall, though, black is the color of
professionalism and achievement, which means it’s clearly the color for
you.

Hmmmm…..

What I did today

Today is that pesky one day of work/school squeezed between two holidays, where the students gone missing and the teachers got lazy (and somehow Guns n Roses’ "Paradise City" plays in my mind heheh…’oh won’t you pleaaaaase take me home’ ).

Anyway, managed to do some constructive things today, despite the earlier plan to laze around and watch DVDs.

Got some documents done and ready for printing. Took little sister to the bank and then to lunch. Took some forms for little brother to sign. Changed the faulty front and rear lights of beloved car. Played tennis. Had drinks with friends. Fed the cats.

But today’s highlight was, I met a sexy guy at the workshop. He wore a ‘Diver Inside’ t-shirt, so he could be a diver. He went to get the tyres to his black Perdana changed. The tyres cost him RM260 each. If my guess (based on my observation - I am trained to observe, after all ;-) !) was right, that is hehe…

But all we exchanged were smiles…

Where are my wits (and namecards) when I really need them?

Looooooooooooong weekend (which is not exactly a weekend anyway)
April 24, 2007, 4:06 am

Will be having a looooooooooooong half-free, half-annual leave holiday starting this Thursday. Thursday 26th April is already a public holiday, as are 1st and 2nd and 7th of May (7th is Hari Hol in Pahang), and will be in KL for some academic duties (ie. shopping for textbooks) on the 3rd. That leaves 27th and 30th April, and possibly 4th May for me to apply for leave (which I think I really deserve hahaha). As dear sister is going for an interview in Kemaman on morning 4/5/2007, I will have to drive back to Kuantan on the 3rd. Say I skip work on that Friday 4th, I will have 12 days off. YAY for me!!!

But knowing my sis, I will have to drive her all the way to Kemaman and there’s no point of going back to KL again. Which leaves me SEVEN days of off days. And the sad thing is - I have nothing planned….

So naturally I start looking up at websites that may give me some ideas on what to do on that week… Here are some of them:

1) Pulang KK - MAS fare will cost me RM868… a bit too expensive considering that I will be going for a vacation in June and possibly to KK in August. Although to be with your family, to misquote Mastercard, is priceless…

2)Singapore by train - will cost RM76 for berth. Will not cost me any accommodation fees if I go there for a daytrip…hmmmmm…

3)Aquaria - RM 38 tapi mesti penuh gila….

4)Play tennis everyday…mau bermuscle aku… will cost RM 100-150 to get a new racquet…The one I have now is already broken (yeah right)…

5) Spend RM50 on DVDs, which will get me 6 titles, buy potato chips, and laze in front of the TV aaaaallll daaaaay…

arrggh….anyway, gtg…I welcome any ideas!
